French forward Jules Gallet came to Finland for this season from Amiens U18. He started the season with GrIFK U16 in which he posted respectable points and played solid hockey. Currently Gallet is playing for HIFK U16, a team that will play in the Final Four this weekend. He has two goals and one assist in three playoffs games while receiving good amount of ice-time during the whole season.
Gallet is an efficient, hard-working player with many good tools that make him an impact player for HIFK. He’s able to create space for his linemates by winning battles along the boards. He plays a heavy game along with some good offensive skills. Gallet has a quick, heavy wrist shot. An important part of his offense is that he plays a straight-forward game and gets quality shots to the net even from bad angles. He protects the puck well and has fairly good hands. He doesn’t make many eye-popping plays, but most of all, he’s just really effective.
He’s a strong skater with good balance and speed in a straight-line. Despite being a bigger prospect, he doesn’t struggle with his coordination at all. HIFK U16 plays with a high pace and he fits the team’s style well. He gets in on forecheck and overall he’s also pretty smart without the puck. Gallet has been consistent from game to game and has showed good upside as a right wing who can have an impact in various ways.
