The physical and gritty forward scored two goals as Finland U20 defeated Czech Republic 9-3 in the first game of a two-game set. Talvitie showed that he has a nose for the net and solid scoring touch. A tireless worker who plays with passion, he was constantly in the middle of the action. He was smart and extremely disruptive defensively, applying pressure on opponents on the penalty kill. He won’t quit on any play. He’s versatile and can play a number of roles if required. This season, Talvitie will be a freshman at Penn State University, where he’ll continue to work on his puck skills and playmaking abilities. He seems like a perfect fit for a defensive role at the upcoming World Juniors.
