REPORT: RUSSIA @ FINLAND, U18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, APRIL 27, 2021

Koskenvuo made 25 saves and stopped all Russian shootout attempts as Team Finland took a 4-3 win in their opening game of the U18 World Championship. He made some quality saves and he was very solid in the latter part of the game. He is the type of a goalie who likes to play the puck and this game was no exception, as he would stop pucks well on dump-ins and leave it for his defensemen, or move it effectively to his teammates. He did not overhandle the puck, instead he made quick and clear decisions. He is a strong skater, he got set quickly for initial shot attempts and he could gather loose pucks in a hurry. He read the developing play well and showed some patience as he did not commit too soon. There is a lot to like about the attentive netminder who is committed to play Division 1 college hockey at Harvard University.

REPORT: HPK @ BLUES U18, JANUARY 16, 2020

Koskenvuo made 24 saves and allowed three goal in a 3-1 loss to HPK U18. The 6’4″ goalie has great size and he used it to his advantage, consistently challenging shooters at the top of the crease and cutting down angles. He moved really quickly both up and down, and his athleticism stood out on a couple of occasions. His rebound control was good and he directed low shots well into spots where his teammates could regain possession swiftly. He had quick reactions and he read the developing play well in front of him. Koskenvuo’s game screams pro potential: his quickness, skills and rebound control all are above average at this level.
