Viro had an impressive performance in a 6-4 loss to Blues. TPS’ power play run through the mobile 2002 born blueliner, who made good distributions at the point and got his shots on net consistently. In the defensive zone, he showed the ability to escape from pressure and maintain possession. On the downside, Viro was occasionally out of position and his gap control wasn’t particularly good. This caused him some trouble in 1 on 1 defending. However, his puck skills and skating are definitely above-average at this level. He can make the simple first pass or carry the puck from his own end. His decision making has been an occasional issue in some of my previous viewings, but that wasn’t the case in this game.
