Kokkonen was the cornerstone in the win for KalPa, making 46 saves in a 3-2 win. He made a crucial desperation save during the final minutes of the third period, getting his left pad in the way to prevent a 3-3 tying goal. The technically sound goalie displayed impressive quickness. His post-to-post movement and lateral quickness stood out, plus he had a quick glove. His net coverage was also an asset. While not particularly big at 5-11, Kokkonen covered both upper and lower corners really effectively, not giving much room for the shooters.
