Lampinen made 21 saves in net as Russia U17 defeated Finland 4-3 in overtime. His busiest period was the first one, where he made ten stops, including an outstanding desperation save to keep the game scoreless. Lampinen is a tall netminder who showed very good quickness and mobility. He moved effectively post-to-post. His rebound control was strong, he directed low shots out of danger with his stick and pads. He went behind the net to stop pucks properly on dump-ins and was able to make the correct next move, either rimming the puck or leaving it for the defenseman. What I also liked about Lampinen was his calmness, he never got rattled and looked relaxed throughout the game.
