Seppälä was involved in both HIFK goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to Kiekko-Espoo U20. On the first HIFK goal he got the puck under control quickly off his skates, moved the puck to an open teammate and drove to the net through the middle, drawing one defender to himself and opening up space for his teammate to make a cross-ice pass and finish the play. He showcased nice scoring touch and some patience on the HIFK second goal to beat the goalie shortside. Seppälä had quick hands and quality puck control. He showed some intensity and tried to find open ice to provide puck support. He will need to improve his strength, speed and consistency to be a difference maker in the U20 league. An offensively skilled player whose development is worth monitoring.

Seppälä centered the first line for Tappara U18 against HIFK and scored the 2-1 goal in the first period. He was quick to a loose puck, fired a wrister on the shortside from close range and put his own rebound home. Seppälä is a skilled playmaking center with very good passing skills and quick hands. He gave smart, simple enough passes and found his teammates with relative ease. He also showcased a quick wrist shot when opting to shoot the puck. Even though he doesn’t have blazing top-end speed, he’s a fluid skater who can be tough to contain along the boards due to his quickness and ability to evade checks. His decision making was pretty good in all three zones and he looked proactive to the play. He managed quite well at face-offs.
