Mensik was one of the best players of the game as Kärpät U18 beat Blues 7-0 in their third preseason game. He was a constant offensive threat when having the puck on his stick and he showed some nice chemistry with playmaking center Leevi Kinnunen. Mensik scored a 5-0 goal with a quick far-side finish after walking in from the left side. The Czech winger used his speed really well to skate to the outside before taking pucks to the net. He did not look overly fast at first glance, but he was deceptively quick and had strong edges. I thought his most impressive attribute was an ability to make quick decisions and use his teammates efficiently for passing options. Mensik will be one to keep a close eye on in the U18 league this season.
