Kapanen played right wing on the first line and made an immediate impact in his Mestis debut with JoKP. He showed quick decision making skills and made smart outlet passes. He got on the scoresheet with with a goal and a secondary assist in the 8-5 win. On his goal he fired a quick wrist shot from a distance through some traffic off of a won face-off. Prior to the goal he had already generated two scoring chances for himself. He has slick stick skills to get around defensemen and the ability to weave and make plays at pace. Oliver played fearlessly and was strong on the wall in the offensive zone. He was crafty with the puck and played smart without it. A smooth skater with quick feet and speed. A strong debut from the 17-year-old forward.
