Moilanen was noticeable due to his strong game in all three zones. The versatile winger was effective on the penalty kill, he constantly kept his stick on the ice and read the play well. His commitment to the defensive game was excellent and his effort without the puck stood out significantly. He never seemed to quit on any play which resulted in effective backchecking. He’s a strong, agile skater who can accelerate quickly from a standstill position. Though not big in stature, Moilanen is sturdy, gritty and has good balance. He made some decent passes in all three zones, including a nice feed to the low slot in the first period. He used his teammates pretty effectively. He also got on the scoresheet in the second period. He gave Tappara a 3-2 lead with a precise far-side finish on the power play.
