Miettinen played on Blues U20 first line in the team’s preseason opener against Jokerit. The small winger had a decent performance and moved into good spots in the offensive zone showing strong offensive instincts. He caused penalty in the second period as he made a shifty move on a zone entry. Moments later on the power play, he fired a wrister and defenseman Joona Haarti deflected the puck into the back of the net. Most of all, Miettinen is a strong skater with agility, speed and very good acceleration. He also displayed quality passing skills. The physical side of the game is the biggest challenge for him as he lacked strength and length to win one-on-one battles.
